Recruitment is going well and we are getting lots of fabulous candidates, with a mix of really experienced candidates and those who are in the earlier stage of their careers.

This puts us in a great position to ensure we have teams that are ready to hit the ground running while also providing excellent career progression.

So far we have filled all of our Team Leader positions for Nursing, Anaesthetic Technicians and Sterile Services and have now moved on to appointing the staff who will report to these positions. We are currently recruiting to Sterile Services Technicians, Operating Theatre Assistants and Health Care Assistants.

There has been a high level of interest from candidates outside of Hawke’s Bay which is great for our wider community and means we’re able to source top talent from around the country and ensure we are ultimately ‘Making it Better’ for our Hawke’s Bay locals. Interest in our roles will no doubt have a positive flow on effect for other private and public healthcare facilities as talented people look to move to Hawke’s Bay.

Other points of interest … The Kaweka Health Staff Wellbeing Package has now been released and this is an exciting document that truly reflects our commitment to Making it Better for not just our patients and our community, but importantly for our staff too. It’s been well received by our current staff and has created a buzz for potential staff as it’s a fresh approach to what’s on offer in Hawke’s Bay currently for healthcare staff.
