Your payment options
At Kaweka Hospital we aim to make your experience easy and offer several ways to pay for your surgery.
Your invoice will have three separate charges:
- Your surgeons fee
- Your anaesthetists fee (if applicable)
- Your stay at Kaweka Hospital
Please ensure you obtain a current estimate of costs as these are subject to change (current cost estimates are also necessary for you to obtain prior approval from your insurer). If you would like an estimate of your hospital costs please email bookers@kawekahealth.nz.
If you would like to speak to a member of our finance team regarding your invoice or payments please call 06 241 4178.

Self paying
- If you are self paying (paying for the total cost of your procedure) you will be responsible for all costs incurred and required to pay a deposit prior to your admission.
- The deposit amount will be based on the estimate provided by our booking team. If payment is not received before admission our reception staff will be happy to take payment when you arrive at Kaweka Health Limited (“Kaweka Hospital”).
- If the deposit remains unpaid Kaweka Hospital may reserve the right to refuse admission.
- Upon discharge, any shortfall will be invoiced or if the invoice is less than the deposit received, you will be refunded the balance.
- Please note that hospital costs are separate to Surgeon and Anaesthetic fees. Please be sure to discuss the estimated cost of your procedure with your Surgeon and Anaethestist before you are admitted for surgery.
Private Health Insurance
- If your procedure is being funded by insurance please ensure your insurer has pre-approved your procedure.
- You will be asked to provide a copy of this prior to your admission.
- You will not have to pay for your procedure, however you will be required to pay for your excess or co-payment depending on your insurance policy, prior to your admission. A prompt claim from your insurer is appreciated.
- You may also be required to pay for other charges that are not covered by your policy.
- Depending on your insurance policy and provider you may still receive a separate invoice from your Surgeon, Anaesthetist or any other health provider.
