What’s your career background?

Degrees in Law and Commerce from Victoria; 10 years in technology within various sectors and at various levels including Project/Programme Management, Commercial Management and contract/license management experience; leadership experience within medium/large organisations and at the HBDHB.

Please describe what you do in your role?

Ensure our health technology enables better outcomes for our staff, our clinicians, our organisation and most importantly, our patients. During our ‘start-up’ phase, my role is primarily focussed on sourcing and procuring the best vendors and suppliers to give Kaweka a modern, robust and highly capable digital services platform.

What are you most excited about with being involved in a establishing a new elective surgery facility?

The ability to choose the right technology to provide the best tools and outcomes, without the burden of ‘legacy systems’ is one of the most motivating aspects of this role.

What has been a highlight so far…

Reconnecting with some old industry acquaintances, with the ability to choose the best options, as opposed to being limited by scope, budget and politics.
