Bridget Cuming is the latest team member at Kaweka Health. Bridget, a chartered accountant has been appointed to the role of financial controller. She has returned to Hawke’s Bay after working in the United Kingdom.
What’s your career background?
I worked in Auckland while obtaining my Chartered Accountancy qualification before making the move to the United Kingdom where I worked in a finance manager role at a tech & wellbeing start-up. In my recent role I was the financial controller for a property start-up company specialising in Coworking and flexible workspace solutions based across London, Manchester and Reading.
Please describe what you do in your role?
My focus will be to ensure financial policies and procedures are established with supportive technology and systems, to implement and monitor operational budgets, to assist with obtaining funding for each stage of the build and to ensure there is careful cashflow planning and monitoring for Kaweka to meet financial objectives.
What are you most excited about with being involved in a establishing a new elective surgery facility?
I am really excited about the opportunity to return to Hawke’s Bay and be an integral part of building the foundations of Kaweka Health and to work and learn alongside a team of highly experienced team members to to enable their vision to be leaders in private healthcare for the Hawke’s Bay region and New Zealand.
